2024 has been a year full of innovations for WebSite X5, we certainly haven't held back!
We’ve just released our fourth version of the year, enhancing our software with new features that make website creation easier and more powerful.
From version 2024.1, which introduced new payment options like Google Pay and Apple Pay, to version 2024.2, where we integrated Stripe, we made e-commerce management more comprehensive and flexible. With version 2024.3, we gave WebSite X5’s logos and boxes a new look and introduced new solutions. With version 2024.4, we focused even more on e-commerce, blog, and CSS Code, so we can offer advanced tools to make your website even more appealing and effective.
Online shop
This year, we’ve mainly concentrated on e-commerce, improving it with new innovative features.
Starting from version 2024.1 in March, we introduced payments with Google Pay and Apple Pay thanks to the PayPal Commerce Platform integration, as well as the vaulting for saving payment method preferences. In June, with version 2024.2, we listened to user feedback and added support for Stripe, another widely used and popular payment system.
Now, with the new version 2024.4, we made important improvements to integrated functions. We started with the product cards, the boxes reporting the key details of a product. Even though they already offered extensive customization options in the past, the new layouts and features now provide almost limitless possibilities. For instance, you can set the cover image as card background, organize them in a grid with fixed or variable height, or even choose the masonry layout or a slideshow. These new features make cards even more appealing while guiding your customers towards their purchase.
These new card options are available for the Product Catalog Object too, which now includes new product selection filters and more efficient arrangement tools.
As far as the Search Page is concerned, not only you can set categories and filters but also customize the search bar style to match your website's overall design.
Finally, to ensure that your e-commerce always complies with regulations, we've introduced a solution aligned with the European Omnibus Directive, which requires that discounted products display the lowest price applied in the last 30 days. Now, with just a few clicks, you can ensure your website is compliant.
Rounding out the list of updates are the addition of ALT text to improve product SEO optimization, new sorting options for sub-options, and advanced interactions on product images.
The result? Your online store will be more eye-catching and effective than ever!
Blog
We must admit: this year we had not yet focused on the Blog, and since it is a valuable tool for building the brand, improving SEO, and engaging the audience, it was essential to intervene to enhance its functionalities.
Also, in this case, we started from cards. Just like e-commerce products, Blog cards report some article details, so we’ve introduced new layouts and customization options to enhance the style of your pages.
Another customizable element is the Lateral blocks bar, where you can find Categories, Tags, and Clouds. You can work on it to coordinate its style with your website design.
We’ve then added a new detail: automatic article reading time. A simple yet useful piece of information that can make a difference for your readers.
Lastly, we present a new preset Object: the Article List Object. It will be perfect for creating a gallery of selected articles to display on the Home Page or in other sections of the website, highlighting your best content and driving more traffic to the Blog.
We are sure that with these new features, your Blog will become even more engaging and captivating.
CSS Code
Don’t worry, we haven’t changed our mind: WebSite X5 will keep making things easy for you and allow you to create your website without coding.
Over time, we add new features, and to keep the work environment always intuitive and functional, we reorganize the graphical interface — as already done in version 2024.1. This time, however, the introduction of the new plans, with the addition of the Agency edition alongside the popular Evo and Pro editions, has pushed us to take a step further. We have integrated a handy CSS editor to allow more experienced users to create custom style sheets for the Objects.
You can keep working visually to get extraordinary results, or, if you prefer, you can directly work on CSS code to overcome any limitations.
Conclusions
With this fourth release, we have continued to push the limits of what you can do with WebSite X5, enriching the software with new functionalities that will allow you to boost your online shop, enhance your blog, and intervene with precision through CSS code.
And that’s not all: we’re already working on new ideas and tools for the future, so stay tuned for more news in the upcoming months. Innovation is the core of your mission, and we’re excited to accompany you on your journey throughout online creation and growth!
